Remembrance Day - Puritific

Remembrance Day

Remembrance Day, also known as Armistice Day, is commemorated on November 11 every year. The date is a memorial to honor the members of the armed forces who lost their lives in the line of duty during World War I and subsequent conflicts.

In 2023, the day will fall on Saturday. Despite being a weekend, people from all over the world, particularly in Commonwealth countries like Canada, Australia, New Zealand, and the United Kingdom, will observe a moment of silence at the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month.

Ceremonies will be held at war memorials, cenotaphs, and military cemeteries. Red poppy flowers, the symbol of remembrance for war dead, will be worn and laid at these sites. School assemblies, public processions, and church services will pay tribute to the fallen heroes.

As part of the ceremonies, prayers, hymns, and national anthems will be sung. Veterans and active military personnel will march in parades. Inspirational speeches and poems that evoke sentiments of heroism, sacrifice, and duty will be delivered to keep the memory of the fallen alive.

Even amidst the global challenges of the era, let's take a moment on Remembrance Day 2023 to acknowledge the heroes who have sacrificed their lives in conflicts around the world. They shall never be forgotten. We are indebted to them for our freedom, and their heroic actions will continue to inspire future generations.
